How It Works


From a name to a website in a minute

Here's everything that happens, from signing up to sharing your site: seven steps, with no code and nothing to install. The pictures are a real site, made just this way.


1. Tell us your site's name

Your name, your email, a password, and what your site's called. Its address is made from the name - yourname.acornpages.com - and you can change it before you start.

2. Your site is live

The moment you finish, your site is on the internet: its pages written and designed, a menu, and a contact form that sends visitors' messages to your email.

Each page already says what goes where, so you know what to write.

3. Let AI write the first draft

Open Import in the sidebar and paste the address of your old website. AI reads it and shows what it found: your name and tagline, your story, what you offer, contact details and pictures.

Tick the parts that should go on, and they're placed where they belong. Nothing changes until you say. No old site? Open Build my site, answer six questions, and AI plans and writes your pages as drafts to check.

4. Click any words to change them

Signed in, you see your site as visitors do, with tools beside everything. Point at a heading, a paragraph or a button and choose Text.

Type your own words, make them bold, add links and lists, and save: the page changes in front of you.

5. Add ready-made pages and sections

The Pages screen offers ready-made pages - questions and answers, a gallery, reviews and more - each written and in the menu in a click. A page's settings offer ready-made sections the same way.

Add a picture to anything, or pick one already on your site, and it's sized for every screen.

6. Pick your look

In Site settings, choose a design and a palette, or your own main color, and the fonts you like, and every page changes with it. Preview a design before anyone else sees it - or ask the assistant for a look that suits you.

7. See who's reading

Visitors in the sidebar shows how many people read your site, the pages they read and where they came from, counted without cookies.

Every Monday, AI writes a few sentences on the week: what stood out, and what might bring more people in.

8. Share it

Send people your address, put it on your cards and profiles, and collect newsletter subscribers from any page.

Your site keeps working while you sleep: hosting, HTTPS and backups are looked after for you.
